Dr. Peter Haiman is a father of two and has been a childrearing consultant for over 30 years.

He developed and administered a nationally recognized parent and child center in Cleveland, Ohio, and also served as chairman of the Department of Child Development and Early Childhood Education at the University of South Carolina.

Dr. Haiman has taught at colleges and universities in Ohio and in the San Francisco Bay Area, including St. Mary's College in Moraga.

He was elected President of the San Francisco and South Carolina chapters of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

The California State Department of Education has appointed him to serve on administrative and curriculum task forces. He was a member of the California Senate's Select Committee on Children and Youth.
