Nicola Galloway is a trained chef with a diploma in natural nutrition (Canada) who is passionate about the benefits of healthy and flavoursome food.
Her passion for the culinary arts began stirring at a young age in her Nana's kitchen with Thursday afternoon cooking sessions. Raised by two doctors, her focus on health was never far behind her love for creating good food.
Nicola is the author of three recipe books Alive (2004), a cookbook focusing on allergy sensitive recipes; Cooking for your Child (CPP, 2006), and the recently released Feeding Little Tummies (CPP, 2011). Nicola also regularly contributes articles and recipes to a number of publications.
Nicola's mission in life is to inspire others to make healthy food choices and enjoy the art of cooking. She is particularly passionate about supporting local organic growers and is the co-owner of Fresh2U Organic Food Delivery. Working together with certified organic grower Wolfgang Mann, they deliver weekly boxes of freshly harvested goodness around the top of the south island.
The mother of two lives in Nelson with her family where she makes the most of the high sunshine hours with a large organic garden and fruit trees. Her emphasis in the garden is keeping it simple and easy, leaving the more specialized produce to the experienced organic growers.
